Meet Lynn Horgan-Pisarski, MPT, OCS, ATC
Lynn graduated from California University of Pa in 1989 with a Dual BS Ed in Athletic Training/Secondary Biology with a General Science Teaching Certificate. She provided Athletic Training Coverage for Spring and Fall Football, Track and Field, Women's Basketball. She also served as an Anatomy Tutor as well as an EMT for 6 years.
Her desire to become a physical therapist increased as she worked as a PT Aide at Allegheny Valley Hospital prior to/during PT school for 5 years. She graduated from Slippery Rock with her master's in physical therapy in 1995.
Lynn began her career at Mercy Hospital, Level 1 Trauma. She provided inpatient care to burn, trauma, ICU patients. She also treated patients involved in motor vehicle accidents with spinal pain with a heavy emphasis on upper/mid/lower cervical pain, thoracic and lumbar pain with the use of manual therapy, taking a hands-on approach. While at Mercy, she was given many opportunities. She provided Lectures on Burns/Treatment at Slippery Rock University, Kent State University in Ohio, Penn State Shenango, PPTA Wound Group and 23rd Mid Atlantic burn Conference at Crozier Medical in Delaware.
IN 2000, she transitioned from Mercy Hospital Main Campus to the Mercy SmartHealth Outpatient Centers in Greentree, Monroeville and Bethel Park. Primary responsibilities included Registration, Insurance Authorization and Review of Benefits, Ordering Supplies, Expansion and Growth/Development of PT services, with Utilization of Excel Spreadsheets of Diagnosis, Referral MD and Insurance for trends.
In 2003, she earned her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification (OCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
She served as a Home Study Reviewer for NATABOC for approval of continuing education courses to be approved for CEUs. Lynn was also a member of SACE: (Specialization Academy of Content Experts) as an Item Writer for questions for the OCS Exam. In 2006, she established her own PT clinic for 6 years.
In May 2024, she was contacted by George Hoffman, MS Ed, Owner of Scottdale Rehab and Wellness, who was approaching retirement regarding an opportunity to be a Director of his PT clinic. George was well known and respected in the community. Upon George's retirement, Scottdale Rehab and Wellness was acquired by ESSMC, making it the 9th ESSMC clinic. Lynn is very passionate in her treatment approaches to assist patients in achieving their goals. She treats each patient with compassion and looks forward to the new challenges ahead.
Lynn is a Certified Personal Trainer as well (2002). She enjoys keeping active , gardening, landscaping, cooking, spending time with friends and family, meeting new people, making those connections, attending concerts, and traveling especially to Florida, the beach, or any tropical area.
